We protect the facilities with automatic gas extinguishing systems, which are very precious and cannot be replaced quickly in case of fire, and thus have great damage.
According to the pressure vessels regulation, the hydrostatic pressure test is 10 years. Pressure vessels exceeding 10 years should be tested and refilled.
The extinguishing system must be refilled after a possible fire.
Cylinder valves whose manufacturing date is more than 5 years are subjected to pressure test during refilling.
Valve seals are checked while refilling and pressure operations. If the gaskets do not change, cylinder pressure drop problem may be encountered.
The “burst disk” in the part where the manual discharge handle on the valve is attached is checked and renewed if necessary.
If the cylinder control valve is solenoid valve, it is checked whether it triggers by giving 24V DC electricity. If the cylinder control valve is pyroactuator, the current values coming to the detonator in case of an alarm and in normal condition are measured with an avometer and its suitability is checked. In pyroactuator systems, detonators are changed once a year.
The cylinder is pressurized and tested with nitrogen gas in accordance with the system and pressure value used. It is essential that there is no pressure loss in the manometer during the waiting period.
All joints are checked for leaks with lightweight foam. Nitrogen gas is removed from the cylinder.
The cylinder seal is attached. Solenoid valve is installed. The second time is tested with its own valves.
If the cylinder passes the pressure test, the amount of extinguishing gas specified on the cylinder is weighed and filled with a sensitive scale. If the extinguisher is liquid, it is controlled with an ultrasonic liquid level controller. The cylinders that need to be pressurized are pressurized with nitrogen to the pressure indicated on the cylinder label.
Pressure is inspected for at least 48 hours. If there is no pressure loss, the cylinder is sent to the delivery point.
In some extinguishers, for example FM 200 (HFC-227 ea), is stored under saturated conditions and unwanted and unexpected situations can be encountered in case of pressurizing more than it should.
It is important to make air conditioning and ventilation system appropriate and correct in the filling facility.
