One of the extinguishers which are used today is aerosol. Potassium aerosol is used as a extinguishing agent in solid state and used in extinguishers of the dry powder category.
In general during the extinguishing, it first produces inert gases as N2, H2O, CO2 and micro dimensions K2CO3 particles. In the second step of, the aerosol has begun to extinguish. Aerosol is rapidly separated potassium from K2CO3 to form more ionic and compound of stable compounds KOH, etc. with fire radicals C, H, OH. Potassium molecules in the aerosol fight the fire physically and chemically by preventing the chain chemical reaction present in the fire. Extinguishes fire without decrease oxygen level.
Aerosol is low cost compared to Novec1230 and FM200.
Wood, paper, clothing, combined materials, plastic material, etc. in solid; oil, gasoline, petroleum refined products, organic solution products, etc. liquids; dry and oiled transformers, cable galleries, telephone and telecommunication rooms, etc. used in electrical fires.
