There are no heat sensitive elements that activate the sprinklers. The system is connected to a sensing system or a device that opens the valve. When the deluge alarm valve is opened, the water is discharged from the sprinkler heads on the line to the fire place and the place is floated with water.<\/p>\n<p>b) The control valve is normally kept closed. It is activated by means of fire detection system.
